No other shop can give you the wealth of cycling experience in so many disiplines as Aire Valley Cycles.
Started over 25 years ago with the idea of delivering high quality cycles with high quality service. Now on our 3rd premise with 7500sq ft of retail space with a great selection of road and mountain bikes aswel as BMX, trails and cyclocross. Not to mention a dedicated floor for accessories. Also located within the building is a full service department capable of all manor of repairs all carried out by cytech qualified mechanics.
Director, Bernie Burns has worked in the cycling industry for 30 years. He has come from a family of cyclists,his father Bernard Burns was a professional cyclist in the fiftys and sixtys who went on to be the National British Road Coach for 10 years taking teams to the Commonwealth and Olympic games with much sucess.

Bernie himself had a long cycling career winning almost 90 races gaining National Championship Medals from schoolboy/junior through to a bronze medal at professional level,racing all over the world! His mountain bike experience is also vast after 15 years of working on and selling the best of MTBs in the world. Bernie no longer competes because of his commitment to the shop (too old) but every member of his staff compete in the sport.

Alistair is the shop manager and has a wealth of knowledge to draw upon with over 30 years experience in the cycle trade. Alistair is an able salesman as well as mechanic. During his spare time he enjoys road cycling or mountain biking, both of which he used to compete in.

Tim joined the team several years and has provided a wealth of experience to the business. Competing in disciplines such as, downhill, cross country, and enduro riding with notable results in the Welsh downhill series and the NAM’s downhill series.
Tim recently completed his Cytech qualifications making him a fully qualified cycle mechanic.
Rory Hopkinson

Rory joined Aire Valley 4 years ago through work experience, since then he gone on to take many roles from sales to web design. During his spare time Rory enjoys all mountain cycling as well as downhill and BMX.

Joe is the of one the youngest and most enthusiastic memebers of our team. Qualified in cytech mechanics, Joe is a very able mechanic and can often be found in the workshop. Out of work he can be found riding many different discplines including, BMX, fixed and downhill.

Robin has worked for 11 years mixing workshop and sales dutieswith sucess.Robin has a long and established career in cycling,22 years to be exact.Experienced Cyclo-Cross riders in the north,having competed in the 3-Peaks cyclo-cross event 17 times!(usually finishing in the top 20!)As well as his winter cross seasons Robin spends the summer competing in MTB events and also doing local fell races.
